What a pretty, pretty girl - love all her bling! Sure hope she's up and eating well by now.

Look at all that chrome, what a sweet baby! Hope all is well, I know that that is always a tough time when they don't get up right away and nurse.

We had a filly that was so spindle legged we had to hold her up to nurse. She couldn't stand on her own for a while. Her legs looked like a baby deer's. But she is a gorgeous 3 yr old now, and is just fine. We are just now starting to saddle her, just took our time with her. Was sure tuff at first though.

I wish you the best!!! We all wait to hear how she is doing...

Thanks guys! I can't wait to get to KY to see her! Spoke with the farm early this am and they said she was nursing so that's great news and I'm relieved! She's doing much better so hopefully things are on the upswing. I'm bummed because here in OH we've got about 5 inches of snow so far, freezing rain has hit and it is piling up and then more snow expected this afternoon and evening so doesn't look like I'm going to get down within the next day or two :)

I'll keep you posted!

Thanks mlwinter - I am encouraged by those words - especially about the spindly legs - she looks kind a puny in the picture but they assure me she is pretty big!

My 3 year old was tiny, all legs and ribs and spread eagle when born..she is now built like quarter horse and everyone comments on her being well balanced and nicely conformed

keep us posted...depending on how the gestation is calculated..her mare is due between 2/12-2/18

Great baby, Cheryl. I know they'll get the best of care at their old KY home. I'm still waiting on my mare that was due Feb 1st.

Hey---I was under 5 pounds when I was born and they put me in doll clothes!
Now I'm 2 inches taller and bigger boned than both normal weight born sisters.

So far today, mom and baby are doing fine. Keeping them both in right now because baby is tending to go a little back at the knee and turning in on the ankle - YIKES - but the farm manager is assuring me she will straighten up in a few days :)

Sharon - what is up with all these late babies? Maybe you'll have a Valentine baby.
