We have TOUCHDOWN! PHOTOS & new name! UPDATE

Postby henthorn » Sat Feb 17, 2007 10:55 am

Hurray! My trainer just called me after talking with his wife at the farm, as he's on the road to Oaklawn from Lone Star. Shake On It delivered a big bouncing baby boy last night around ten p.m. on her February 24th cover to Vicar. She's a dark bay and dad's a dark brown, but the baby's chestnut. Go figure!? All are well and rested now. And the farm's next mares aren't due until March 10, so maybe they'll yet get a few nights sleep. :P

I should get out there tomorrow or Monday with my camera and will bring some photos. :D

great news..thanks for including cover date in the thread..it gives me comfort to know others had to wait...seems like the late January foals are still in the oven  or just being born

Well, Sharon pulled a stupid today! I charged up the batteries in my camera, but forgot to replace them in the camera. So although I went to the farm with the camera to visit and to bring back some pictures, that part will have to wait a few days.

The new little man is a TALL lanky chestnut with a star and snip, and white on at least two legs. Babies look so funny at that stage, with their shoulders side by side, and their front legs projecting down with no space between them yet. :P

I need to do some more photo editing and get some printer ink, but I was able to sneak one picture onto photoshop that you gotta see. This is the colt at five days today. He's practicing to be a Lippazaner or a buckin' bronco!
