Postby Sunday Rider » Fri Feb 23, 2007 5:08 pm

Last year was my 1st foal I bought the mare in foal the owner said she was due to foal in early March, she foaled April 22!!!!!! It was her first foal and she had a TB BEAUTIFUL filly, I named her Castine's Beauty after the stallion. Talk about waiting!!!! This year I did the breading with my other mare she is due mid March, this is her first foal, too. Her name is Miss Chaffee, a TB the Stallion, Silvo a Oldeburg. Any name ideas???

Before we start suggesting....will you be wanting a name that begins with S, like his sire? I know it isn't mandatory with Oldenburgs, but a lot of folks do it anyway. :)

Sure, S sounds great, I think maybe with Oldenburgs you may have to use the stallion's name????

Unlike most Warmblood registries, the Oldenburgs have no set naming rule....they 'reccomend' using the first letter of the sire's name, but it isn't mandatory.

For a colt, I would suggest Sawatch, which is a mountain range in Chaffee county, Colorado. For a filly, there is a town called Salida in the same county. :D
