Not full tb...but a white filly

Postby Derby Lyn » Sat Apr 12, 2008 5:13 pm

Belle (welsh) had her filly this morning about 9am. She is a white filly with chestnut ears and mane. She is by Arctic Cielo (JC/APHA). Its a big filly, the dam is 13.3h. I will post pics on Monday.

Healthy filly, everything went well, but the filly is having a hard time nursing good. She has nursed, just can't seem to get it. I don't think she has had enough yet, maybe I am just worrying :? Mom's bags are hard, she lets the filly nurse fine. Being a maiden she is doing awesome so far. She lets me pull on her teats to get the milk going, but the filly can't latch on that great. I think I will try to catch whatever milk I can and hopefully her udder will soften. Any suggestions?

This was an accidental breeding, so we found a fitting name for the filly...Belle's Booty Call  I don't think we will call her that so we are looking for a barn name.

I like that :D Maybe call her BB or something. She is nursing good now. She had a heck of a time getting the hang of it. She's been sucking on the wall. I didn't want her to miss all the colostrum.

You could just call her Boots. Glad she's doing well!

What's wrong with "Booty" for a barn name?

I'll post some pics on Monday from my work computer. This computer is too slow and times out when I try to upload pics.

A medicine hat!! OMG, she is tooooooo adorable. I think if it were me, I'd name her for that obvious trait.....those red ears. I can't wait to see how that red mane will look as it grows out! Nice baby. Congratulations!!

What a unique filly :) Congratulations! I guess you won't need to ever worry about staff confusing her with another horse lol.

Today you can kind of faintly see a line going down her back with some chestnut hairs, and her tail is multi colored also.

She is a sweetheart already. Comes right to the door when you open it. My filly last year came out bucking and fighting  This filly is a complete opposite.
