We have a colt! NEW PICS ADDED!

Postby clh » Mon Mar 29, 2010 4:39 pm

Allou had a colt on Sunday about 6:00 am. A very nice colt by Daaher. Pictures to follow when I can catch him when he isn't looking like a donkey with his big Allou ears :) All bay with a few white hairs on his forehead. Guess it is someone else's turn for bling this year  because it sure doesn't look like I'm going to get any unless McCaskill's foal has some! Two healthy foals so I'm not complaining!

 So you say .... of course if I waited for Allou's foals to grow into their ears you'd never see a picture of them !! I did get over there today and got some new pics (unfortunately they were in the barn) and were hiding behind mom but I'll get them up.

Allou has a date with Exchange Rate - so when she has her first full cycle she'll visit the man :)

I think he's very cute. And compared to some we've had, his ears don't look big at all.

Funny you should mention his big hocks Madelyn (I'm think Awesome Again is throwing that because Tallulah had them too) - our vet's wife came up with the name Shad but said we should find the Indian name for big hock and call him that :) I didn't/haven't looked that up yet so have no clue what that would be :)

Our newest foal was born on April 15 and we're thinking of names like Taxes, Audit, Refund, etc.... for him ;) Yep it was a colt ;0

Madelyn I always get colts. This is the first filly I've had in forever and I'm beginning to rue the day I did the filly dance (ha) as she is a she-devil. She already has learned if I don't like what you do I'll just turn my rear to you and try and hind kick you. She doesn't get away with it but it doesn't keep her from trying it :)

This Daaher colt is another story all together. He is so head-shy I don't know what to do with him. Any suggestions?
