HEEEEEEEE'S HERE!!!!

Postby spex4me » Sun Apr 17, 2011 9:26 am

Finally after almost more than 3 years in the making, the vision became reality! We welcomed our first ever foal, a COLT (yes so happy it's a boy). Mom (Heather's Bid) decided to hold him in until after we checked her at 4 am munching her hay. At 6 am she jogs to fence with her son in tow!!!! Dad (Green Fee) will be proud I think.

Lots more pics to come. I am stuck in Maryland for a race, so I will be the last to see my newbie!!!!! Hubby and I are debating... Envious Bid which I love and now he likes Zealous Bid because someone said that colt has zeal....ugh!!! I say Overdue Bid even since he wanted to wait 377 days!!!!

Thank you all for your kind words. Watching him if he can't run fast enough to be a racehorse he's got a natural dressage future with his big animated canter lol! Here's two of today's pics as the others don't really show how dark he is. Still believe he will be a rose grey eventually with some grey hairs in his mane and tail, as well as a few around his eyes, which is exactly what I wanted. He is 43 inches at the wither so he ought to be good size since Biddy is 16hh and the sire is 16.2hh. My vet thinks he may even be closer to 17...good lord! And I don't wish an overdue mare on anybody....because if you have any color to your hair at all it will all be gone in a matter of days!! He really is just so ugly he's cute hahaha!!

Thanks again guys. He couldn't be better as a first foal for us. He's awesome and makes it too easy. Biddy probably doesn't agree lol. Now to go check in on your guys in the other topics :D !!

pics taken 4/28 height measured on 5/1/11 45.5" He has gone an inch and a quarter every week so far, which is ironic because the filly my mare had that was by a Dutch WB came out the same size and grew the same amount to be 15 hh at six months. So I guess I will see.... I am trying to just update this every 2 weeks or else I will go overboard lol!
