I was thinking that she was a dark bay -- I didn't know that she was a lighter color until a couple hours ago. Its nice to see her for the first time. Do you think that she will get darker?

You guys really think that she will be a chestnut? I WOULD BE SO STOOKED! OUT OF MY MIND. Chestnuts are my favorite. But I do see underneath on the feet that don't have white -- some black skin... :(
I mean I'll love her any way but you know. I can wish....
:P
But I wonder where it came from and from who....

I have a question that might not be okay on this side of the forum
Assuming that she is chestnut... What are the odds if
She is chestnut genes from Flying Hill and her genes of color came from Moonrise.. See how those genes are going?

Do I post this to genetics?

The mane and tail look black to me, would be a bay, then.

If she is a chestnut that means the mare has that as a recessive gene and passed that on to the foal and so did the sire. I forget the technical name for it but I do know it's recessive just like blue/green eyes in people.

My mare is dk bay and her full brother is chestnut. She carries one chestnut gene because Ecton Park is chestnut but passed on the dk bay to her first foal.

The tail and mane are darker but the foal could be a light bay?

I believe so. It looks like it..
Oh well. :P One of these days I'll have another chestnut. I still do like the mix of color....
Hubby was thinking about named her :
Lord Let Me Win
I was thinking:
Onahoofanaprayer
Son was thinking:
Gone Racin
Or
Sip Of Sass
Either way I believe a good barn name for her is Rosie
