Really is a nice filly. My nurse mare (I managed to get the same one twice if you can believe that!) was a paint. She stuck out like a sore thumb with all those TB's and it was funny watching her try to keep up with the herd when they all decided to run. Not a chance - her "foals" could outrun her. They'd get in front of her and look back with a look on their face as if to say "come on momma, everyone else is way up there, we're going to lose this race!".

I am very sorry to read about the loss of your filly's dam, but she gave you a wonderful looking foal! It is never easy when you lose one and your heart is invested so much, but this filly looks like she is going to be a bright beacon for the future. Can't wait to see how she grows.

Here's a couple of pics taken today. She is just short of six months old. She was weaned 7 days ago. Step mom did a fine job raising her. Note the two dark hooves up front and two white hooves in rear. Mom had four dark hooves and dad has four white hooves..

Is that lower lip enough white to qualify for APHA paint horse registration?
