Hauled my due mid-March preggers mare down to the vet and had her caslicks removed, stopped and weighed her at the public scale and wow! 1,420 lbs. that' one big pregnant mare.
Once had a surprise foal a month early because the mare had conceived on her first cover but was covered again a month later because the stud farm thought she was open again.
I always keep that in mind and have the caslicks removed based on the first cover date, and not the last cover date.
