I really like Cobleskills program. Who is the sire? Congrats to all those involved.

The sire is Williamstown, and if I get a chance, I'll snap some pictures before I leave for spring break today :)

Unfortunately, I'd misplaced my digi cam for quite awhile, but starting this Sunday, I'll be back at SUNY Cobleskill to start my 3 classes over second summer session (hopefully to pick up another 9 credits), but they're night time classes from 6-930pm at night, meaning plenty of time to go to the barns and take pics/fawn over the mares & foals.

The barn manager of the lower barn is awesome, he's the one who was really supportive of me winning my filly's trust and after noticing how closely we'd bonded, reminded me that she'd only be in my care until February unless I took action and adopted her. But, the nice thing, is that he lets me handle the horses and give the ones who need it extra TLC and attention.

I'm hoping this year will be just as great, since I always look forward to helping out over there, I'm kind of hoping night check will be an available position for me to work up there too. Last year, I'd often go with my friend who did night check and together we could get each barn hayed and watered in no time!

Thanks :)

I can't wait to see if any of the other mares at Coby were successful... we lost a foal whose mom kicked it (I think in the head), and then one of my favorite mares (Nobody's Angel) lost her foal less than a month? before it was due and almost died, and then one of the other broodmares had a placental infection (if I heard the news correctly) and lost her foal. One of the other broodmares was at the vet clinic last I'd heard, trying to save that foal. I guess this year was really bad for Cobleskill's program, also, my favorite stallion (as in, my favorite TB stallion and one of the only ones I know first hand), named Mighty Magee, is probably headed off to Cornell's program because he's considered too much of a liability. I'm just hoping that it's a rumor and nothing more, he's a sweetie whenever I'd stop at his stall and talk to him.

Well, I've returned to Cobleskill 8) and of course, headed to the horse barns before finishing my unpacking.

Five Buck Marshall's colt is tall, dark, and handsome. I suspect he'll gray out like her foal from last year is. When walking past her stall, I noticed the stall said '06 foal by Spring Fever... which is odd, because before summer break, the stall said "New Foal: Williamstown x Five Buck Marshall". Perhaps they bred her to Spring Fever on her foal heat?

Well, visited this pair again, he was friendly and came over for a scratch through the stall bars :) He was well behaved when he was being led out by one of the barn managers, slightly stubborn, but overall, well mannered :)
