"Goldi" gave birth this morning around 5am. It was an uncomplicated foaling, although she hadn't give much warning (a little early, and not a lot of udder development). They had a little trouble getting the foal nursing, but a mild sedative for the mare and a 2nd enema for the colt set everything right within the first couple hours.
He's a chestnut with a big blaze and snip, and white on 3 legs. He got dad's bone structure and mom's gorgeous face, which we think is perfect.
And, most importantly, all seem healthy and happy thus far. Which is what all of us really hope for.
