Very nice! Congratulations! Man, I can't believe that mare is letting the dog hang out! She must be pretty laid back. Keep us posted on the twins' progress....maybe you could name them after famous twins! What are their sexes?

The bigger one is a colt and the smaller one is a filly.

What happened to the filly's hip? It looks like an owie...

I can't think of any famous racing twins but Spectacular Bid's 2nd dam was a twin. Both of those twin fillies made it to the track and earned a fair amount in those days.

They actually look great for twins! My friends mare had twins at 362 days and they didnt look anywhere near that good! The colt ended up dying 2 days later and the filly is now 3 and is just 14.2. I wish you the best of luck!

Their immunoglobins are normal and they are eating up a storm. They appear to be getting stronger. The vet thinks they are going to make it. I am still cautiously optimistic since he missed the twins.

Rick, how was the foaling? I have always been curious on how a mare would actually foal twins :?

Especially as they look pretty good sized! How old are they now?

Joy foaled out unattended without any problems. Foals are now 4 days old.

best of luck as the odds are against twins as race horses...but one never knows.....just how did the "vet" miss twins.....?? does the mare"s family have a history of this ?

Congrats on both of them. Wow that must have been a shocker for you? Did you know she was carrying twins.

I have a mare who is a 1/2 sister to twins..named Penny One and Penny Two..cant remember if they raced but they both produced nice runners
