hey foal watchers. my mare foaled a filly yesterday during the night
by herself. we checked on her around 11 pm and she looked fine, with no signs that she would foal that night. she was eating, no nervousness
or pacing, so i decided to keep her blanket on since it was still chilly at night. needless to say when i checked on her around 7 the next morning
there was the filly standing still a little damp, and mare with her blanket
still in place. mother and baby doing fine. filly is a bay with one white
pastern, with very long legs. i will post pictures as soon as i can, if everyone wants to see. and i decided to name her freedom rings
in honor of all our armed forces.
