Looking for extremely FANCY and BIG

Postby Stephanie Smith » Sat Dec 27, 2008 4:44 pm

MARES! Must be registered!

Of course in this market the cheaper the better, I have not seen a ton of horses moving lately.

I have a 17h but you would have to do a tattoo search on her. Just looking to rehome her.

From Canter-MI:

1673-0408 Mare, 10 years old, 16.3. Gorgeous grey! Strawberry Sundaze is that sought after dressage prospect! She was too big for the small track in Michigan and was therefore retired. She's got a big, long neck and is a nice mover. Show quality, likes to work, professional, and all business! See this beauty at the farm in Michigan. $1500 to a good home. Contact Pat Doran at 517-546-4448.

I'm not familiar with this mare, but I've seen some of Pat's other horses and they are well cared for.

If interested I can give you the owners number.

Should have mentioned that I do not at all want a gray.. (cant help it, I dont like them as they can throw gray).. I have seen TONS of stunning grays, but I am not breeding for grays at all.. I like excellent conformation/movement/type/temperment with great color too.

I am looking for a really nice broodmare prospect... Lots to choose from so far, though dont know if they are the "ONE" yet..

I left my requirements open, to see my options.. I dont mind Canter at all, but must fit my basic requirements.. I have gotten quite a few horses off the trainers pages. :D I love canter cuties! Just hard to search through every single horse to find what I want.

Will lease with very reasonable terms, esp if the mare is going to have to be shipped here, cared for for almost 2yrs and shipped home..

I have found a few mares that fit perfectly on what I want except for height.. I do not want to sacrafice height/substance for color! I will not pick a horse because it is a perfect color. That must be the icing on the cake, not the base of the decision (minus the gray issue).

Thanks!
Stephanie

I have a 16.2 hand dark bay mare Granja Joyel. She is currently in foal to my AQHA stallion, took on one cover. THis mare is big boned and a big mover. Quiet and easy to handle as well and has been ridden OTT. $1500 with foal $1200 without.

My 17h mare is a dark bay, 14 years old. Has papers but didn't follow her when I got her. A tattoo search should pull them up.

How about Gettys Sweet Mesa shown with her first foal? Have papers, she has a wonderful disposition and movement which she passes onto her foals.

I know of a 17+ hand TB mare named "Cowgirl Affair" who is near Mountaineer. She has a big ankle but should be fine for breeding. At first they wanted 1500 for her....then 1k so you never know what you could actually get her for. She's huge and very pretty.
I can email pics.

The hardest part about BIG is usally having a decent topline.. Prefer round with no huge pointy areas..

Dont mind uphill at all (would prefer it), so higher withers is fine, as long as it is not shark fin type withers.

Defintely do not want a huge pointed top of the croup. Small point may be fine, but it is hard.. Toplines are very important in show horse breeding.

16.2+ prefered.

Stephanie, you have a PM. However, she is not cheap! But she may be exactly what you are looking for!
