Taken!! By a friend of mine in Lousiana

Postby sstacy19 » Thu Aug 27, 2009 6:52 pm

Maud found a GREAT home not far from the farm where she is stabled now.
Thanks all!

Hi all,
downsizing my herd...my mare is down in Louisiana. She is a big bodied, correct pretty mare about 16 or 16.1hh.. chesnut with a blaze and a couple of socks. She is a half sister to a G1 winning chaser and is the dam herself of a stakes chaser.
She throws very correct goodlooking foals. Her name is Early Maud. Very nice mare, easy to breed and work with, no bad habits, easy keeper. I am just getting out of breeding. Farm says she is not infoal...BUT...they also told me that my other mare who I shipped home was not infoal and she was well over 100 days when my vet checked her...so she may be infoal to harborage, a stakes winning son of Monarchos. Her weanling and yearling are both by him and are very nice looking colts.

I want to find a regional type breeder who intends to keep her and let her live out the rest of her days on their farm...I don't want her passed around, she is too nice of a girl for that.
Thanks for looking, if you know anyone let me know.

Even with decent shippers, it'll cost alot to Ship from LA to ME.

I saw this mare when she was in KY and liked her. I think you might have better luck if you could say for SURE if she IS or is NOT in foal - and if she IS in foal, what about the stud fee, etc.? And then, of course there would be the problem of the stallion standing in LA so the mare would be best heading to IN, PA or a state that has a state bred programs for in utero foals.
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....

Stud fee would be taken care of by me.....I can't say anything for sure Madelyn as I am in Michigan and the mare is in Louisiana....but as my ad said, the farm told me the other mare was not infoal and infact was....so whoever takes her will have to have her vetted. She is DEFINATELY breeding sound. Thanks for looking

Well at least the fee, if she is in foal, is CLARIFIED.. now she Should Definitely Find A Home!!!! :)
