Well, it's very possible that I found the reason why Janney was NOT interested in this mare - He was NOT the breeder!
This mare was bred by Dr. Keith C. Wold (KY). Deceased Oct. 03.
I'm still wanting to know where Mini's Mom got this information from??

BJ BJ BJ,
Find my quote where i defend these people?I stated facts and you where the one who commented on What Fine examples they are not!!!I appoligize if i stated that you were name calling..We can argue this until we are blue in the face but now that i have read Marli's last post your resentment you had for the Janneys should be gone as should your post about their character.I dont know the Whitneys and they should be applauded for what they have done, but they are a dime a dozen.I'm done.

The TB mare Betty Mae was consigned to the NY Breeders sale at Saratoga September 29th. www.nybreederssales.com Hip # 229. She was RNA'd. If this is the same mare, she's produced consistently and she has a decent pedigree.

I ran her name on the dmtc ped inquiry and stuart janney was listed as the breeder - sorry folks - and I was impressed with her breeding - I got an e mail from joy smith and she told me that they dont' know much about the mare - don't know about her papers - am concerned about what happened to the other older aged mare that was with her - there was no response to my e mail this pm - they are dealing with a major theft of 32 saddles so that maybe what is takeing up the time - I was quoted a price of $900.00 - I did not disappear - just went to work - am trying to get therse mares out of there - did not know that the owner died or what her past was other than what I found on the dmtc ped report - she seems well bred - susan
From what I know of Crowley's, it is a run of the mill auction in western Mass. Meat dealers do attend and horses do go to slaughter through the auction but many others go for riding horses, some even for quite a large sum of money. Really runs the gamut there. All depends on the horses being sold and the crowd at the auction on a given night. I don't think there is much demand for Thoroughbreds there so can see why there is concern for this mare, though $900 seems high for meat price. Whoever she is, I hope she finds a good home.

Actually, the hubby knew - and since he just purchased some kind of *expensive* train, (UPS delivered it while he was snoozing!) he had himself in a corner!
BTW, she'll be delivered here on Saturday - one of the Crowleys is bringing her. Forgot to mention, but this is Betty Mae (1990 model)and I have spoke to her former owner. They were also very glad to hear she'll be fine!! I'll get some pics after she settles in. Was told she's in good health, sound and a pleasant mare to have around, shorter mare built like a sprinter, between 15.2-15.3. Was also invited to go and see her 04' foal. They actually have several others and so she was interested in listing them on the site, she's got to get the list together and fax it to me.

Excellent! Can't wait to see! She'll be in great company! BTW...15.2 & 15.3 is a good size. Both Jewel & War Medal are right about that size
