BJ, I am losing respect for you. Since when does a righteous cause such as you dedicate yourself to give you permission to throw out all rules of civility and respect for those posting on this forum? You do sound like a zealot, and your rants are illogical and inflamatory. Shame on you for your manner and accusations, the hysteria which carries your flying fingers across the keyboard makes you sound like a holier than thou harpy. All I can see in your posts is someone trying to wrangle an opportunity to preach. You've lost your message and your audience. Pull it together and pick your fights well, and substantiate your claims, or your efforts will start to fall on deaf ears.

Well, for what it is worth, all I see in this entire thread is this fellow Joe, who has gotten things all riled up, is no where to be found. Almost like he printed something and said......hmm, run with that one! Sorry, just my 2 cents worth

Gotta laugh! I read through this today and wow!

Interestingly I never used the word "cheap" and I also never said I was replacing my entire herd. (I did use the word inexpensive which is not interchangable with cheap) For those of you who know me you will be aware that I have just gone through a nasty divorce and I don't have the cash flow that some of you might have . That is why I asked for inexpensive mares. I wish I had 50,000 or so to start again but I don't. I am doing things the only way I know how. And that is to ask.... You never know what might happen. By asking in the right place, I now have some gorgeous stock to start again with.

I speak english...do you? Seems everyone is great at MINCING words but short on respecting one's natural curiosity for CLARIFICATION.

People who "know you", probably wouldn't communicate with you about buying "cheap/inexpensive" horses via this forum. The point is, this IS for the most part, quite anonymous. For all of you who get offended at someone, be it me or anyone else, expressing CONCERN and questioning what, why and how re: some anonymous person wanting to purchase a bunch of cheap broodmares to ship to Canada...get over it!

Had you posted something along the lines of

Looking for Broodmares to Lease or Buy to start off the career of my 3 y/o Stallion, Stealing Kat. Price Range $ x - x, Location X....Perhaps it might have made a bit more sense. In any event, like I said before, the people I consider honorable, that I know and do business with, would not only NOT be offended at any questions, they would open the door to all questioners, without a second thought.

As you know I have not nor have I ever been offended by any of your comments BJ. I answered your questions clearly and without any offense. I will never be sure why you felt any of the comments were directed at you but there is nothing i can do about it. Nuff said...

Get over yourself and the apparent complex you seem to have where anyone has to answer to YOU.It seems like the majority of the people here disagree with your arrogance and instead of just biting the bullet for inserting foot in mouth you want to piss even more people off with your reapeted ramblings.I guess when you think you are always right you end up,well like you!

BJ, why don't you see a specialist about removing that hair that is obviously really, really irritating you?

Of course she speaks english. What's the reason for your sarcasm? If you're seeking clarification or additional information, then ask for it COURTEOUSLY.

Your rudeness is offensive. And your opening remark "I speak english...do you?" is a perfect example of that.

By the same token, had you requested additional information appropriately then we wouldn't even be having this discussion now. Why do you expect Stealing Kat to fix her method of communicating when your's is so lacking...?

Bottom line here, BJ .. You've stepped WAY over the line on this one and need to stop, close your mouth and pay better attention. You long ago cross over into Zealotville and you are only hurting yourself and your cause at this point. Preaching never wins support.

You've hijacked someone's wanted thread and turned it into yet another 4 page rant on the evils of horse breeding in general and horse slaughter in particular.

You attacked someone you don't know for no other reason than you suspected she MIGHT be looking for horse meat SIMPLY BECAUSE SHE LIVES IN CANADA? Can you say 'racist'? I knew you could. You can be just as racist against a Canadian as you can an Asian or Iraqi.

And it DOES come down to reading comprehension and COMMON SENSE because if you HAD common sense and good reading comprehension, you would have seen from Kat's first post:

StealingKat wrote:Still looking for some really nice girls. I have been very blessed with the mares that I have been able to lease this season. Will look at the older ladies between 13-17. Thanks guys keep em coming!

... she has also been looking to LEASE horses.

You can't exactly send a horse back when the lease expires if you've shipped it off to slaughter.

Get off the cross. Someone else needs the wood.

"Sick" & pathetic comes to mind when I think of the "herd" and "gang" mentality of all of YOU, who are the ones doing the name calling and the ranting. The really "fun" thing about talking to people like you, Sam...You can't point to one thing you do to make the world a better place for anything or anyone can you? You are hardly one to tell anyone when they've crossed over the line. But I'm sure for a moment, you felt good to think you could.

So rather than admit you made a mistake and attacked a person without just cause and for no other reason that your desire to once again rant about horse slaughter, you raise your hackles and try to belittle me.

And this helps your case how?

Who did I attack Sam? What case Sam?

It seems the only ones looking for blood are all of you. It is really quite amazing to watch you all. Never saw so many people get so up in arms over NOTHING. The fur started flying over Joe's post. Then Wilf mentioned something along the lines of "even Ray Charles would read something into SK's post..." or some such other statement that caused Linda, I believe, and others to jump on Wilf. I then explained that I too felt uneasy with the sound of the posts, and I had been SILENT until then, except to ask a couple of questions, EVEN THOUGH I HAD TWO OTHER POSTERS "PM" ME TO MENTION THE POSTS SOUNDED VERY "FISHY". Then, I was totally jumped by all of you. So all of you...kiss my ass! Go to your little coven meetings and pat yourself on the back for being so BAD. Other than the people I communicate with offline...there isn't much to learn FROM or impart to any of you who have felt the need to "twist" my explaining where my "uneasy" feelings came from into accusations of me of being a zealot on a crusade. What are you all zealots about???? Breeding...breeding and more breeding. It's a shame most of you are clearly lacking it.

You all might stop to consider that Joe, who breeds and owns horses, also lives near the New Holland kill pen. You might stop to consider the sights he's seen and the stories he's witnessed before you all get your panties so far up your cracks you can't see straight! Then again, your lives must be really shallow if the things I wrote, early on, set any of you off. What came after...you all more than provoked.

I prefer the company of horses and a few true horse people. Thanks.

P.S. Sam...you belittle yourself when you join in with the angry lynch mob. But hey...I understand...you've nowhere else to go. Must be a slow night in purgatory.

I've been watching this thread unravel for 4 pages now, and I'm stepping in wearing my Moderator hat, not my personal poster hat. I have not touched this thread because there is nothing wrong with disagreeing with one another, being on different sides of an issue, questioning something that makes us uneasy or defending yourself when something about you has been questioned. IMO, all of this is very legit.

HOWEVER, please keep in mind that all of the above can be done in a pleasant, polite manner. For those people who were bothered by certain posts in this thread, be it the original post or any of the posts thereafter, you are all entitled to your opinion based on your own personal experiences and/or gut feeling. Argue both sides of this until this post numbers in the thousands, I don't mind a bit. All I ask is that everyone involved; past, present and future; please consider the wording and tone of your posts before you hit that "submit" button.

If information is what you seek, you will likely receive much more of it by remaining unaccusatory. I also fully understand that this is an extremely emotional and difficult issue, that there are people on all sides of it, and that for the most part, everyone feels strongly that their opinion is the right one and will work hard to defend it. Again, not at all a problem... but let's do this in such a manner that people can read through the information without getting defensive and upset, therefore enabling them to actually digest the information rather than have a message clouded by defensive emotion. By using our own posts to help people stay as clear-minded as possible while reading about a difficult issue, we have the opportunity to share thoughts and information via this board in a useful and productive manner.
