If anyone is giving horses away at the track PLEASE, PLEASE make sure that you know who you are dealing with. There is a scum bag going around the track (was last seen at Penn. on Wed. 12 Dec.) saying he is looking for broodmares and kid's horses. The minute he gets them they are loaded on the truck going to the killers. I know this first hand ,a client of mine gave a horse to this scum bag after she ran on the 12th. By that weekend she was on her way to the killers. Lucky for her a rescue in Va. was able to get the $$$ and buy her off the truck. I would post the mans name but I don't know if that's legal.(V----R--- ) Anyone interested in more info e-mail me. Oh, I have a phone # for him.

Hi Martha,

Yes, I was involved in backtracking this mare and spoke w/the last owner. They're very upset- with good reason. NOBODY can be trusted- if there's an offer of a good home or rehoming, as an owner/trainer it's imperative that the individual is checked out PRIOR to giving the horse(s) away.

The mare is safe, thank goodness!

. The # I have for him is 610 992 6740. I'm told this in not a working #. Well that's the # he gave to the people he was talking into giving him the mare for free. He said she would be a broodmare at a wonderful farm in N.J.

Martha- the previous owner also said he has 1, perhaps 2 other mares to rehome. He mentioned you may help him- are you? I left him know he'd be safe through you also. He has our contact info as well.

I am certainly no attorney, however, couldn't their actions be considered as "theft by deception" if anyone wanted to pursue it? Is there anything criminally they could be charged with?

Yes, no one can be trusted!!! I normally donate any horses to New Vocations in Ohio and they do a wonderful job!! NEVER give or sell to anyone except a well known person or organization!!!!

scum bag has talked people into giving him. Where are they now? He could end up in court. Hell would be a better place.
