Creative way to sell my filly

Postby BELLARINA » Wed Mar 19, 2008 8:07 am

8) I have a Trakehner x TB filly that I must sell. I made her a MySpace page. I will consider all offers and I will ship her in the 48 states for FREE...and refund 100% of your vet exam by a local vet, after purchase!
She has been started under saddle, ready to work. She is 2 years old and stands 15.3, should mature to 16.-16.1. Very sweet and handled since birth. Check her out at the link below.
Asking $6,000 to approved home! I will go to no ends to find her a great home, if you can offer her a wonderful opportunity at a career...I will make this worth your every effort!!! :D

Hi there. Very cute page! Make sure she is bathed, trimmed, pulled or braided in her photos. I know it is the fuzzy time of year but it will help with your sale!

Just as a side note, I used to manage a Trakehner farm in Pennsylvania. We never started them under saddle until they were three, as they're slower maturing than the hot blooded breeds. I know she's an Anglo-Trakehner, but I'd still be leery about doing much with her under saddle at her age.

Out of curiosity, since Feuertanzer's stallion approval was revoked, does she have any sort of registration? Or was he revoked after she was born?

I like the page you set up. That's a very neat way to market your horse!

She is registered with the AWS and ATA will also reconize her in the appendix.
She was born before he was revoked.

The photo's of her under saddle are taken with my 12 year old daughter. All we have asked of her is to relax at a walk, shes still a baby!

It is so tuff to sell sport horses! It is a very hard market and I really want her to get a great home so I am trying to make it worth wild for the buyer. I feel responsible to give her the best chance because I brought her here. Since I do not have a video...I just thought MySpace!

You are going to have a hard time selling her since Feuer has had a zero stud fee for so long and the market is saturated with his kids. She's cute, but nothing that jumps out at me. You may end up investing more money in her before you sell her, taking her to shows to go on the line and everything.

I have to defend this since I have a Feuertanzer baby on the way. I hope you know why his approval was revoked, since he recieved some of the highest scores ever at his initial inspection. He was cast in his stall and injured and couldn't complete his performance approval. I encouraged his owner to pursue his approval because I knew of a TK stallion that WAS NOT appoved at his initial inspection, then 10 yrs. later was approved based on his offspring's performance rcds. By that time this horse had been gelded.
I didn't get a "free breeding", nor does anyone else really. They charge 250.00 "booking fee" and then you're also charged a fedex shipment fee. Some lucky people get by with the approx. 350.00 initial fee and that's it, but I went beyond that because my mare "took" on the 1st shipment but was pregnant with twins. When the vet tried to pinch one, she lost both, so I decided to try again since I thought the stallion was so nice. With vet fees, etc. it ended up costing over a 1000.00 which is an average stud fee for a nice sport horse stallion. Still cheaper in the long run, and if I get a colt it can be registered as an "appendix TK" which is fine, because I don't intend to ever have a stallion anyway. If it's a filly, I'll be a little disappointed because of the registry situation, but a nice horse is a nice horse!

No defense necessary, Toadie, and no offense was meant by me. I knew he was revoked because the injury made meeting his performance requirements impossible. I even went and double checked his status on the ATA website. My question was nothing more than academic interest because I wasn't sure about the time frame involved or how the ATA would recognize (or not recognize) his offspring. Like I said, I used to manage a Trakehner breeding farm and I was curious about the revocation issue in regards to Feuertanzer's get, specifically in reference to Bellarina's filly.

My filly is very nice, however she is a plain Jane. My number 1 goal above all is that she gets her chance! She does not have as much eye catching chrome but chrome only goes so far.....DAMN the suspension and neck she has when troting is no doubt a charistic of equine excellence!
If I do not sell her, I will put her in training later this year. This quality of animal does not belong in the hands of a novice or 'backyard breeder' such as myself. I would almost give her away if someone can give her that chance to prove herself.
My vet offered to buy her once as a weaning, he did the A.I. on her dam. He said that she was remarkable and a masterpiece stamped through and through by her sire.
toadie- I hope you enjoy your foal!!!! Feuertanzer did a remarkable job on this filly. Did you hear about his passing last weekend?
