She is at Sunland Park in New Mexico. She has a stall there until the weekend.
Under normal circumstances, this mare would be shipped up tp me in SD to rehab, and we'd go from there... but I have run out of room and out of time. Listing her for sale may condemn me to one of the circles of hell, but I have no choice.
She is Newton's Princess, 2001, Newton's Law x Spendy Princess. Bay. Nice mover, level topline, doesn't have that TB dip in front of her withers, pretty head.
Nicest of all is her attitude. The first and only time I met her, she had not been out of her stall in a few days (a point of contention I don't care to delve into at the moment) -- she was excited and antsy but respectful and obedient. I am not a TB expert, I don't walk hots, etc. and fully expected her to squish me... instead she controlled herself quite nicely.
The trainer, a relative of mine, called to say she had shadows in the x-rays of her knees, along with some localized swelling that did respond to antinflammatory medications. Previously, she had some injections, although I do not know what type or the frequency.
He had talked us into putting up the money for her a few months ago... never let her have a lay up, ,,,, god,,, I could go on...I could also tie him to train tracks and watch happily.
A good home for Newtie is paramount. I will figure out what she would go for per pound and add a couple for good measure. Or request proof that what you paid for shipping surpasses her slaughter worth.
As I said, she'd be coming home normally.... I have 9 rehab/rescues right now along with my usual herd.... and I am only one person... if I brought her home I'd have to part with some of the ones here, thus consigning them to that fate....I hate this.
e-mail me or call for more info and pictures taken last fall. If I don't answer, please leave a message, I WILL call you back. I'm a home health/hospice nurse and keep funky work hours.
thank you

Surprisewind, wish I could help and take the mare, but actually, is there anything you can say about the mare that might make her marketable for something else? For example, if she is uphill, nicely balanced, nice mover, etc., how tall is she? People are always looking for nice TB mares to produce Appendix HUS horses, just have to be really tall. Does she have any splashy markings or color? Could she be approved for Warmblood breeding? There are lives for broodmares producing other than racehorses.

She's got a level topline, does NOT have that wierd dip in her neck in front of the withers (I don't know what the proper name for that thing is, other than "ick"). Good legs, other than the knee injury -- didn't look tied in. Then again, I was kissing and hugging on her, not checking out her gams.
With some weight on her, she'd be an awesome looking girl.
I'm trying to get the pictures transferred from the digital camera to the computer. Please have patience. This comp does not eat hay, so I'm not really much good at it working with it
