Thoroughbred Horses seek homes

The Summerwinds Stables, along with the Excellar foundation, need your help finding homes for the following horses:

Good Lookin' Devil needs a home by THIS SATURDAY or he will be sent to slaughter. This horse is a TB gelding, aged 5. Very sweet and willing. He currently has a swollen knee from racing. He needs the rest of the winter off, but should be sound and ridable. If you could offer foster care, for about 3 months (its a tax write off!) we would appreciate that too! This horse is in PA, but I am almost positive transportation could be arranged.

3 aged (in their 20's) TB broodmares are seeking homes. They are all pretty mares and docile. The owner no longer wishes to breed them. I think they all have good bloodlines. These horses are in Maryland.

Please contact the SummerWinds at: [email protected] (@verizon.net) or call 302- 492-8038.

As an FYI-

ALL of these horses will be transitioning into new homes courtesy of the Exceller Fund.

That is great. I live in TX and can't afford to transport that far. I'm glad they're going to get good homes :)

I keep my eyes open for ones coming off Sam Houston though as I'm only about 25minutes from there.

Heehee..you guys should know by now that when you don't see any messages from me on the general forum in a couple days, it's because I'm very busy finding homes!!! :) The last couple of days has been overwhelming but all the prospective new homes/rescues finalized the committments last nite! You can bet I exclaimed a huge sigh of relief!!

Good Looking Devil will be going to a wonderful sanctuary here in NY state where he'll live his life out just being a horse. The other 5 y/o will be going to another rescue here in NY state and at some point, be matched to an adoptive home. Once the three broodmares are secured, they'll be taken in by the TRF. Another 23 y/o ex-hunter/jumper TB gelding and a 4 y/o filly are going to an adoptive home in Pa., tomorrow.

GOOD NEWS ALL THE WAY AROUND - Alot of hard work and phone calls but knowing they're safe is the best reward!! :)
