Peace Emblem SOLD :)

Postby Jessi P » Wed Aug 05, 2009 7:44 am

***UPDATE # 2 ***** 9-15-09
Through no fault of his own Peace Emblem is available again.

The groom has taken on too many free horses and the trainer Jay Bernadini felt it was in Peace's best interest to take him back and sell him privately. Please see my updated post on PAGE 2. :) Jessi

****UPDATE****8-22-2009

The trainer gave Peace Emblem to one of his grooms today, he is no longer looking for a home. ;)

*******

Peace Emblem is a 2001 model dark bay or brown gelding who does not crib or weave. He is a mild stall walker at the track.

PICS!!

Postby Jessi P » Mon Aug 17, 2009 2:16 pm

Measuring 16.0 3/4," this dappled dark bay gelding is standing downhill in his left facing pictures.

A son of Our Emblem, this well bred fellow was priced at $500 for a quick sale before I saw him in person - if I had seen him before that I would have recommended they advertise him for at least $1k.

Buy him now and "flip" him for a quick profit!

Suitable for all disciplines, Peace retires sound after earning $200k+ on the racetrack.

He does not crib or weave but he is a slight stall walker at the track.

If that horse can't sell quickly for $500, we're all in trouble.

No kidding...heck, *I'm* tempted at that price, but I doubt he'd be terribly happy in my apartment. What a lovely animal.

I have not had one single inquiry about this handsome boy. Sigh.

He is a very handsome boy.
It's sad though, horses are selling for as little as $50 around that area.

Jessi - he is stunningly, gorgeously beautiful. If "he" was a "she" I'd buy him in a heartbeat, minimal white markings or not!

I actually emailed a friend of mine about him a few hours ago. She does some re-selling and I thought he would be so perfect for her as a resale project

Its also so nice to see a beautifully maintained and well cared for horse like this guy is though

Let me make another call up here - there is a lady that re-homes TB's up my way and I'm sure she'd take this guy in a heartbeat for some of her clients

I can't believe he hasn't sold yet. He is stunning. Another "if only" for me...if only I had more time/space/money he'd come home with me!

Is he gentle and quiet? I mean not nervous or skittish? Can he be turned out in a large pasture with barbed wire? I'm talking about a huge pasture.

Donna, thanks so much - I really like this guy, he deserves a great home with somebody. I have at least had some inquiries about him in the last 24 hours. :)

Tbird I dont believe he has ever been turned out in barbed wire, at least not here at the training center by MNR. You can see their lovely white fence in the photo background. He was, however, very non plussed by his photo shoot, even with the flies biting terribly, while the other horse I took pics of on the same day almost turned himself inside out stamping, shaking, and swishing because of the flies. Peace was very classy about the whole thing, nothing bothered him. Can you tell I like him a lot? :)

Can't believe he wasn't snapped up but I guess it is because the market is saturated in that area with OTTB prospects. In a different area I bet he would go fast. Course then you'd have to ship him there. Sigh...
