According to the Jockey Club she is registered. I am assuming that the owner will not hand the papers over to the new owner if there is a Sheriffs sale but will she is sold before hand for $2500?

Does she have any training at all into her at this point i.e. ready to head to the track?

No she is nowhere near ready to head to the track but she did learn pretty fast. She was hardly broke to lead when I got her. She is registered. The owner has been MIA for over 6 weeks. Phone disconnected, certified letter came back undeliverable etc. He knows he can't afford this horse and said he would turn the papers over if I found a buyer. Otherwise we go through with the sale. I have a video of her first trot, let me see if I can find it.

Laurierace

If someone buys this filly for $2,500 and is able to get the papers I belive they will still be liable for the back board, Vet bills and so forth.. at the least, I beleive in order to have a Sheriff;s sale there must be a formal lien on the horses and I don't believe Old Bonita or the Vets will release that lien is satisfied by paynet of the amount owed or the execution of the sheriff's sale.

Second, I don't know what the proceedure is but I'm pretty sure you can obtain Jockey Club papers for registrered Thoroughbreds sold at Sheriff's sales.

Lastly, she looks kind of small for a 2 YO.. How tall is she??

If the filly is bought before the sale her papers will go with her. The $2500 sale price is slightly more than the amount owed so there will be no obligation to the buyer. I am the lienor, not Old Bonita Farm. She is 16 hands.

thanks Laurierace.

I might drive up and take a look at her. Is she at Old Bonita??

If interested will I be allowed to have a Vet X ray her legs before the auction??

No, I moved her to an undisclosed location when I was unable to contact the owner for so many weeks. I didn't want him showing up with a trailer and making off with her when no one was around. I would be happy to show her to you and let you vet her if you like, I just don't want to post where she is on here.

Supposedly I am getting paid for the horse on Friday so the sale is going to be canceled. If that doesn't actually happen I will let you know. Thank you to all who inquired in her.

I'm glad it worked out well for you. What is the owner going to do with her now though?

I dropped her off at a farm with a track so I am guessing he is going to try to get her ready to race himself.

I'm glad it all worked out for you finally. What a shame that you had to go to such lengths to get paid what you were due.
