Speightstown colt

Postby madelyn » Fri Sep 10, 2010 4:30 am

A pal of mine has a Speightstown colt he needs to move NOW. His name is Outta Speight. He was fifth in his first start, fourth in his second, and in the money ever since. Got a knee chip removed and laid off; my friend got him for a (big) haul bill. His barn guy (not the brightest) stabled him between two fillies. He tore most of the wall down and banged his knee up pretty good. He is a good enough horse to make someone a really nice farm/regional stallion, or if someone had the time to put in he could be got back to racing sound and run on for awhile. He Has The Speed.

Make an offer (please?)

Whats the prognosis of his knee? What kind of damage occurred? How much times did the Doc recommend off?

Another chip. Prognosis is he needs it removed and then the time off to heal, which is probably 6 months, and then ease back into training. He comes with his x-rays.

Didn't run until Feb. (or so) of 2009. Trained by Assmussen, (at least for awhile). Ran at Fairgrounds and Churchhill. Believe he broke maiden at Churchhill in Mdn claimer. Was a $350,000 Saratoga Select Yearling. Mom was a grade III winner.

Obviously, was pretty well considered at one time.

So he had a chip removed and now he needs another chip removed. Is this correct?

Yes. But this chip was not from racing, he tore a wall down.

His last race was a 10k claiming race at Indiana Downs on July 2, 2010. He finished 2nd out of 4.

Race previous to that: 15k claimer at CD on June 19th. He finished 3rd of 8.

Was that a NW-2 for 10K?

Yes, it was NW2L.

You can see his whole race record at equibase, just enter the horse name and the races come up. It's free.
