So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....
Actually I've had three, not concurrent. But in the usage in this sentence, husband is singular, modified into a possessive by the addition of "'s" and the noun in play is "coworkers". Rather like "one of your sister's friends" which implies that you have one sister, vs. "one of your sisters' friends" implying many sisters. Of course, English is not my mother tongue, so if this usage is incorrect, it is my misunderstanding

Madelyn, your sentence was absolutely correct.
Dublino, you should know the rules of the road before you start tailgating anyone else. If she'd written, "One of my husbands' co-workers..." it would have implied polygamy, but she didn't do that. It's all about the placement of the apostrophe. "Husband's" is singular possessive, which made it the correct choice.

A co-worker of my husband, implies one husband and more than one worker
One of my husbands, implies more than one husband
I don't expect you to understand English as from your post the word tailgating was used I expect you speak American on a daily basis.

Maybe she could have said my current husband has multiple co-workers and one of them has extra tickets. Then it would have let Dublino know that you had more than one, that the current one had a job, that he did not work alone and that he had been planning on going to the breeders cup
Oh wait, that's Facebook that's the voyeuristic site not this one
