FYI > Just putting the word out here as many of you have sport horse contacts/interests.
I am putting my now 7YO homebred TB mare up for sale. See ad on Equine.com at link below.

She's a nicely made mare, with a pleasant personality who needs to find a new vocation. She just wasn't that fast on the track to race at competitive levels which was my goal. My main priority is to find her a new home where she will be given the re-careering/training for another sport where she can shine and be the useful mare she wants/deserves to be.
Please respond via the Advert as that is where I am following up on responses.
Thanks everyone!

Thanks Crystal - She took after her dam in the appearance of her head, large eye, etc. In fact she very much resembles her dam in an all over aspect but that cross of a rather refined 'classic' type thoroughbred mare to the very tall (17.2HH) Commanchero/Unbridled sire resulted in this mare having a good deal more substance to her body, fore and aft, a bit more heighth - and much better feet. Whereas the dam is narrow in head-on view or from the rear, this mare is robust from all directions.
She's also different from her dam in personality, although I have to say that "Dora" as I call the 'mom' has mellowed at age 23. This filly of hers, I call her "Cora" has been a love bug since day one and was loved by the trainer's staff when she was on the track, always wanting to give anyone who passed by some horse kisses in exchange for a scritch of the neck or pat on the head.

Thanks Kimberly Mine - I'd LOVE to place her with a known PQ poster!
On another note > guess I'm officially 'in the market' as I've received my first 'scam' inquiry > you know the one(s): 'Hey - Is this hose still available? I'm out of state right now but want this horse for my [relative's] B-day. Send me you're Pay Pal info and I'll send a trailer to pick her up!'....no name, no phone, no ID....yeah right!
<SIGH> just when the internet appears to be a blessing it proves to be a nuisance
My "reply"> "Great! I'm not to internet/Pay Pal savvy and am a bit confused as to how this will work. Would you be willing to discuss this and clarify everything with my partner? He's a County Constable, Specialist on Internet Fraud Crimes, and I'm sure he can understand what you're proposing." Strange: haven't had a response since then.....I'm guessing the relative's B-day surprise wasn't so urgent after all.
On a good note - I have had some more credible inquires as well
We soldier on!

This is the best response I've ever heard, bar none. HA!

I am in the process of researching potential trainers to get her basics down. Even though we are in the midst of a severe drought I just KNOW that the minute I sign on with a trainer that doesn't have covered arena that the heavens will open up for the proverbial 40 days and 40 nights of rain. Trying to contact an old trainer I used for initial breaking and conditioning of TBs - he did an excellent job not only getting them physically conditioned but doing so in a way that didn't fry their minds. Since this mare was always reported to me to be anything but difficult to train I expect she'd take to being 'back under saddle' like a duck to water.
