For $1,500 someone should take a chance on this mare. She ran 24 times in 3 years (3-2-8) $32, 457. She must have some interest in running.

Her half sister for the 08' jan sale..

I'm sure the 1st dam's produce record is a bit better by now, and she is from the family of Badge Of Silver..

Could be worth a offer of $1,000.

I almost bought this mare but the owner decided to continue racing her.

certainly a lot more on the dam side than many being bred these days.

Run the race - the one that's really worth winning.

I would definetly like to see her go to a distance/turf sire. I may just be curious enough to see if the El Prado 08' foal by her half sister did anything exciting..

Definitely a nice mare and worth a shot in the shed. What a nice page she has! Like Jolt says, she has a much better dam side than many being bred these days, esp for a person breeding in a regional market.

my bad, 08' was by Artie Schiller (son of El Prado). Big Apple Lady is unplaced in 1 start at 2 in 2011. NY bred too.

I used to own this (then) filly. Bought her as a short yearling and raced her with a trainer down at the mountain. I wanted to retire her but he took her and kept her running with some success for a few more starts.

I bought her because of her page and while the first dam was very successful in her own right she never reproduced that in her foals. Still, this (now) mare had some ability.

I am somewhat wondering if she is in a safe place here. Any opinions on that would be appreciated.

CT I know the Osbornes - I am sure the mare is in no danger at all. They are wonderful people and responsible horsemen. I would not worry at all in that regard.

This post interests me - we've got a mare from the same family & DID take her to a turf sire (in PA - Ecclesiastic, for a turf-ish foal). The now-2 y.o. colt is about to be gelded & started & hopefully sold. Or else raced.
