4 y/o chestnut mare- Quincy Light located at Suffolk

Postby doublete » Sat Oct 02, 2004 1:35 pm

16 hand mare. She ran well before being moved to Suffolk, but after an 8 month layup, we can't seem to figure out what to do with her. Trainer was unable to do anything, I was unable to do anything. Could be she just doesn't want to be a racehorse anymore. (also there is a reason Mike Gill was done with her...)

She does have some class though. By Colony Light and out of a Fit to Fight mare.

She's a nice riding horse as well, very quiet and sensible.

Asking $1500 OBO. Will be listed on Canter New England soon. Call Katie at 617-817-7936

I'm very negotiable on her price, it looks like by sunday we'll have the other three out of there and she'll be the last one. Since she's not running at all, its best to have her out too.

She has a stakes placed full-sib, Two Lanterns.

Looks like some nice breeding there. I like to see Chieftain in a pedigree.
So many pedigrees...so little time. (C)

why the lay-up?what do you mean she does not want to run...soundness?

She's sound. Has beginnings of an ankle, but we haven't pushed her.

Some horses just don't want to run anymore. To be quite honest, if I knew what that meant with her we'd probalby keep trying. But we don't.

Why the layup? I don't know. We bought her in April, after she'd been with Mike Gill and on layup with him. I wish we did know. No idea.

Out of a half sister to Millionaire Dixie Dot Com

Postby Keith » Wed Nov 24, 2004 3:44 pm

Hi!

I looked at her at Suffolk and she does have soundness issues but she is out of a half sister to millionaire Dixie Dot Com and to the dam of Grade I winner Siphonic. She is bred similar to Siphonic's dam and she is all Paul Mellon breeding on her dam's side. She has potential to be a decent broodmare. I looked at her but I bought White Wedding.

Nice mare, looked at her ped- but unfortunately her grand- sire is Pleasant Colony- which would make the breeding 2 x 3 to my stallion + I would need to pay for her + shipping(around$5k-8k)
Doesn't anyone know where to buy good english horses???? (bar the sales!)
