Mustang Jock & Counterpunch

Postby casallc » Fri Dec 02, 2011 3:55 pm

I just saw where our old freind larrygene's studs are for sale on equinenow. It doesn't look like they have bred anything since he passed. Sad in a way because he had such hopes for them and spent the $ to get mares to them. Maybe someone can use them.

There is no report of any mares bred since 2008 (when larrygene died).

counter punch had nice pedigree but not much of a race record and neither had excellent conformation. In those days and age only the really excellent in all respects should go to stud..

I know the people taking care of them. Larrygene's wife got taken to the cleaners by the farm standing them and eventually she got the horses and brought them to Guthrie, Ok. My trainer who is taking care of them said that they were in bad shape but eventually she was able to get them healthy. They "stood" at her ranch but were not advertized.

Hope they find a good home.

Such a shame there are so many people out there who will take advantage of people (not to mention the poor horses). I hope they land somewhere safe.
