thats like a 3200+ mile trip.. $3,000 is less than a dollar a loaded mile, which is kind of a good deal. But Brookledge has trips out to CA in the next few weeks so maybe you can make it work from there.. but I'm sure even a stall and a half would cost you about $1,500+

$3k across the country really isn't bad.

Brookledge will be considerably more, I'd think--they are $2k from Lexington to Denver, and have always priced out quite a bit higher than other big name shippers for me.

You might have the best luck with a large commercial shipper that is based in Oregon, if you can find one. I've also had lower than expected quotes from Bob Hubbard (although I certainly haven't priced that route.)

Find a horse closer to you :)

A run to Chicago from Louisville (320 miles) for a race and return is costing $1200 these days. With fuel costs the way they are, it just costs what it costs. $3K for 3200 miles is a really GREAT deal.

I used Hubbard's in 2005 from Oregon to Michigan and they were $1500 back then. I know thats 7 yrs ago but that was still a decent price back then. Uship is on the more expensive side anymore.

I recently came across a gas receipt from 2009 and it was $1.79 a gallon! Those were the days. 2005 gas was right around $2 a gallon. With gas nearing $4 a gallon, you would expect to pay twice the price for shipping. So let's do the math - 2005 $1500 haul x 2 = 2012 haul $3000....
