Pam, you can always start here... just list what you are looking for, where you are located and how much you wish to spend.

People on this board own everything from a slow 15 hand filly (courtesy of Halo), to high dollar (above six figures... well above) fillies and mares (LSB, Dray, and Green Hills). Then some have a little bit of everything (Michael). Additionally this board is trolled by a couple agents (Bargainsblueblood for one). And, several who keep good tabs on local horse sales and slaughter sales... and then there is our own A.D.D. horsetrader (Madelyn) who seems to be everywhere, at all levels.

hey, its AGE ACTIVATED ADD ... besides, I'm sort of retired... I need to stay busy doing Something... my herd is down to 25 at present. Can't help it if horses turn up in my stalls when I am gone. I LOVE finding the "diamond in the rhinestone box" when I go to the slaughter auctions...

Anyhow, I am not sure I like the "horsetrader" reference... in my defense, I do have a Masters in Computer Science, I'm certified on the technology that keeps the Mars probe running, etc. Got through college on independent study with a 4.0 GPA... I still "clean up good" and look presentable in a suit and tie. I made my living doing other things like building datacenters, not trading beads and mirrors for fur pelts...

Anyhow, Pam, the horse sale is tomorrow, let me know what you want and I will keep an eye out for you if KY isn't too far for you to ship from...
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....

SORRY Madelyn!
I didn't get back to the computer til now. When it comes to horses, I think, you sound like me. I believe there are alot of good horses out there that just haven't gotten a fair shake. I like the saying a horse's problem is over 90% human error.
Anyway, I am truly a beginner with breeding, so I'm not sure what I'm looking for. I've got this Slew/Spend a Buck line I'm trying to find a match for. So, all I know to do is compare hypo-matings, linebreeding, and pedigrees for black and bold type that would catch others interest.
In short, I don't know what I'm looking for. I'm just praying I'll recognize when I see it.

Sorry, forgot to mention I'm located in Illinois, so Ky is not out of the way. My price range is less than $5,000 which limits quite a bit.
Anyway, thank you all for your time and responses. This forum has truly helped me alot.
God bless you all.
