Lively Exit is a 16.0 1/2" 2002 bay Halo line gelding - sound, smart and fun and ready to move on to a new job.

Sound, no vices, great temperament - very people oriented. Great work ethic, good to gallop. Excellent sport horse pedigree includes Halo, Northern Dancer, Olden Times, Exceller etc.

Trainer Carl Cornelius (experienced with riding & show horses) says that with Lively's good mind and solid work ethic he will be very easy to transition from racing into a new career beyond the track. Their main concern is getting Lively into a good home before winter time.

Located at Mountaineer Park Racetrack - zip code 26050, 45 min west of Pittsburgh Pa.

Priced at $1,000 to a good home.

Please direct ALL inquiries to Carl or Beth Cornelius at (724) 462-3440 or (724) 462-3441 before 8pm EST.

In these pics and video Lively is due for a shoeing and is in fact both missing BOTH of his right shoes. You will hear that (missing both right shoes) reflected in the trot portion of the video. The morning these pics & video were taken (9/17/13) Lively was very "fresh" as he had not trained for several days and it was a very cool morning - all the horses were frisky and "up." :) Sorry for the shakiness in the video - I am still working on my video-ing skills.

Common questions:

Where is this horse located? Lively is currently located at Mountaineer Park zip 26050, approx 45 min west of Pittsburgh Pa.

When was his last race? Lively's last race was 8/11/13 - he finished 8th out of 9 horses. Before that he finished 4th on 7/30/13. He has raced 7 times in 2013. See his lifetime stats and complete race record at ... registry=T

Why does his trot sound funny in the video? His trot sounds funny because he is missing both right shoes. He is due for new shoes, obviously, and is on the list for the blacksmith. :)

Does he have any re-training other than racing? No - Lively has only been a racehorse.

Can we do a trial? No, no trials allowed for insurance purposes.

Can we ride him at the track? No, only licensed exercise or pony riders are allowed to be mounted on a horse on racetrack property. For a very serious buyer a visit could be arranged (with some planning and schedule coordination) so that you can watch Lively gallop on the racetrack with an exercise rider. Keep in mind the track closes for training at 10:30 and is closed on Wednesdays.

Is there any video? Yes - I compiled some short video clips together - link it at ... 788471293/ It was cold and Lively was fresh. You can also watch race replays on with a free account. Under race replays search by horse - "Lively Exit."

Why is he missing two shoes - does that mean his feet are bad? Our blacksmiths are very busy here at Mountaineer - first priority goes to horses that are entered in a race - they get shod first. Lively is lower priority at the moment and is waiting for his blacksmith to work him into his schedule. He has not galloped for several days because of the missing shoes, which is why he was so fresh in the video (plus the cold air!).

Lively is a neat horse with a great personality who will make someone an excellent partner. Thanks for looking!
