In need of a mare

Postby CS » Fri Mar 25, 2005 12:55 pm

I am looking for a nice mare in the $15-$20k range. Maiden ok if there is good family behind her. She must have good bone - a few conformation issues are ok if not too severe, but bone is a MUST! Prefer lines that include Ribot, Bold Ruler, and/or Secretariat. It would be excellent if she had tail-female Whitesburg within 4 generations. Any location except west coast. Breeding to sell. I know it's a longshot - but I'm not finding what I want. Just about ready to claim one. Thanks.

hi there, are you looking for one that absolutely has Ribot in the pedigree and it would be a bonus if it did have pleasant colony in there aswell? The way you worded you letter was sort of confusing. E-mail me and let me know. [email protected]
Thanks

What about Luv That Security? Has had two drop dead gorgeous colts, one by Military, one by Labeeb, plenty of bone. Over 16 h. Still open, we were going to breed her on her next heat. No issues at all. Nice family. Has everything in there you specified. Will ask the owner if he wants to sell.....
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....

Pimento has been running at Penn National

Postby Keith » Sun Mar 27, 2005 4:57 pm

There was a Go For Gin mare name Pimento who was running at Penn National this fall. She is 4x5 Ribot and 5x5 Bold Ruler and 5x5 Princequillo. She is a hard knocking mare who made over $100,000. She is by Go For Gin-Nina by Caveat. She was born in 1997. I have a mare named White Wedding who is by Siphon-Miss Diana A by Cormorant. I know you may want more black type if you are breeding to sell. A Hero's Honor or Sea Hero mare would give you some Ribot bloodlines through Graustark. You should be able to find a Pleasant Colony mare in that price range. Angi Go sold last year for around $20,000 and she is a Grade II stakes winner and I do not know if she is for sale. A decent Forty Niner mare would also be another way to go where he was out of a Tom Rolfe mare.

Thanks for all the responses. We found a nice mare in NY named Runaway Wife that we have decided to purchase. If anyone knows of a quality shipper that can pick up in NY between Albany and NYC and deliver to Dayton OH within the next 7 days, please let me know.

I have a mare by Da White Judge (x Whitesburg) so I am just curious about how you are breeding a mare with this bloodline? Her first dam is by Accused (Alleged-Pas de Nom <dam of Danzig>), second dam is by Caucasus x Nijinsky-Quill x Princequillo. She is 4x5 to Crafty Admiral, winner of 4 incl allowance race.

I breed for sport market, but just curious. I'm pretty sure she also carries a sabino gene (look at Da White Judge).
Thanks,
PSG

PSG I too have a Da White Judge daughter (she is only 3/4 TB though) She is solid chestnut LOL! Anyway, she had a foal by my TB stallion (son of Kris S) and the foal had 4 socks and a blaze! I had no idea since the stallion was solid bay. Curious!
