Taylor's Special

Postby JR » Tue Oct 05, 2004 8:12 am

I'm crossposting this. He is in the state of Washington

I received a call about a stallion named Taylor's Special. He won over a million dollars at the track. He is 23 years of age. He is sound, but apparently on the thin side. He has been abandoned and needs immediate placement. WIRE does not currently have room for another stallion, so we are trying to help place him. He will not be adopted out through WIRE, WIRE is just trying to find him a home so he does not have to be euthanized. Currently the owner of the property where he is at has no other option since the property has been sold and he has to be moved inthe next few days. If someone could even board him at a reasonable price for a month until we could find him a home, this would be very helpful.

 I cannot believe someone would throw him away, poor horse I remember watching him run as a teenager. When are people going to learn animals are not disposable.

Hi, I would love to know more about taylor's Special placement, I have one of his offsprings and he is excellent in the hunter/jumper world. If something odesn;t work out with him in his new home I will take him in a heart beat. :)

In the original post about Taylors Special that was on the general discussion board, it stated he had been placed. I was merely passing it along. I dont remeber where but maybe a search will turn it up.

TAYLOR'S SPECIAL...Did he find a home?

Postby BJ » Sun Oct 24, 2004 2:45 pm

I can find nothing in searching the internet regarding where Taylor's Special ended up. Last word was someone was going to take him on an interim basis. Does ANYBODY really know what happened to him that could give specifics? Kathie, in WA...do you know?

Thanks,
BJ

I got confimation that he is being prepared for transit back to Old LFriends
in Ky and should leave in a couple of weeks. A farm nearer where he was is taking care of him so I didn't have to go get him. I am greatly relieved that it appears that this old guy is going to live out his life as he
should, admired by many.
