Postby bdw0617 » Thu Dec 13, 2007 12:55 am

for anyone whogives a damn, I like Ingrid the gambler on Satufday in the Turf sprint for filies. very good allowence filly who has never ran off the board in a hand ful of starts and should make some definate noise.

I can see why you like Ingrid the Gambler, but I am leaning toward Toll Road in this spot.

good pick.

I admit I'm kinda/very biased towards ingrid the gambler, I've seen all her races and I've already cashed a double digit ticket on her. I dont' think I'm going to get that type of value here and if I don't Im' not going to play her.

I see the morning line on Ingrid the Gambler is 7-5, Toll Road at 3-1. One that I think may have a shot at a price is Ghostly Girl at 10-1, who may be able to get up late for a score if Ingrid the Gambler and Toll Road hook up on the front end. However, this just might be a race to pass.

Maybe Ingrid the Gambler might drift out to a better price as the race approaches, but if I remember correctly your cutoff is about 5/1 bdw?

yes geo, with few excpetions (stone cold locks IMO) which she isn't an expetion. yep, I'm just a fan this race. not muc interesting to bet on at hollywood today. I'm thinking about calling it a day and just watching the races. The Scarlet looks to be an interesting race.

Slew's Tizzy is racing at Calder today, or maybe I missed it already. He was always one of my favorites. Enjoy the racing today bdw. Maybe we'll see a new star in the making while we're watching. Let me know if you do (i'll be grading at the same time - having racing to punctuate it makes it bearable).

Longshot Shriek won, with Ingrid running second at 4-5. My longshot, Ghostly Girl ran third. Toll Road ran out. I'm glad I passed the race.

I believe Shriek is owned by a forum member.

see, looking at that race, is exactly why I dont' play below 5 to 1 95% of the time. because i handicapped that race right. if I had to handicap it 100 times, I'd come out with the exact same result.

looking at the winner, I can see how the filly won... she wasn't a sloutch, but is not very consistant. I can see the "shipped west" arguement, but her last profrmance was last place on dirt. that's the kinda horse that if she beats me, dmanit she just beats me. and she did today.

again I liked ingrid but not at below even money. you have ot give yourself a chance to be successful and taking 4/5 shots isn't going to do it.

I thought about putting ghostly girl on the bottom of an exacta for some value; she is a granddaughter of one of the best turf sires ever, strawberryroad, trying turf for the first time, off a win, at 10 to 1.

well if that is the case congradulations. you have a very nice filly on your hands. there are a couple in that race, 4 total, I wouldn't mind owning as broodmares.

the race of the day is going to be the hollywood scarlet. I think a star in the making is coming out of that race.

I think two stars came out. Zenyatta, and Country Star both looked like something special to me.

I remember that post bdw, but I have a terrible memory for names. Two special fillies today. And not just from Hollywood from Turfway and Turf Paradise, some great finishes. Even claimers can run as though they're Curlin battling Rags and Street Sense.
