Out of all of the bigger name Derby hopefuls I think Court Vision is the worst of them all. The Remsen was such a bad race, and hes been nothing but slow to this point. Very overrated 3yo

Majestic Warrior is also being brought along slowly at Payson by Billy Mott. He has the breeding to get the job done if he stays sound. TJ

Mott has 4 he is pointing to the Derby, they are all with him at Payson. Z-Humor and Riley Tucker are way ahead of Majestic Warrior and Court Vision right now in their training....I would imagine the latter two will pick up the pace in a couple weeks. TJ

you said Pyro is a plodder, plodders do not run 6 furlongs at CD in 1:09 3/5 closing with a rush, nor do they run second at 1 1/16 eating slop all the way around, you would not know a plodder from a champion.

As to his pedigree, being by Pulpit, who finished 4th in his Derby with an injury, both grandsires, A.P. Indy, Belmont and BCC and Wild Again, winner of the first BCC, were Grade 1 winners at 10 furlongs, so I would say his pedigree says he will thrive at 10 furlongs.

As usual, your post is based on your opinion, not the facts.

Any opinions on Sleuse?

I'm specifically wondering about the pedigree.

Sleuse is by Grand Slam who has sired some runners. His third dam was a hard knocking mare on the Maryland circuit and there are some things to like. He is inbred to Secretariat, but I do not think the Derby is for him.

Here are the conduit mare derived stamina numbers for the winners of the Kentucky Derby since 1972. The lower the number, the more female family stamina influences are assumed
Only 4 winners had a stamina index of 1.00 or higher, the highest being Ferdinand in 1986 (1.19), and the lowest was Thunder Gulch in 1995 (0.44). The average stamina index is 0.79.
