Robert B. Lewis S. (G2)

1 1/16 Miles (All Weather Track) | Open | 3 Year Olds Stakes | Purse: $200,000

Post # Horse Jockey Weight Claim Price Equip. Med.
1 Indian Sun Solis A 115 L
2 Crown of Thorns Espinoza V 115 L
3 Coast Guard Bejarano R 115 Blk-On L
4 Reflect Times (JPN) Smith M E 117 L
5 Meal Penalty Gomez G K 117 L

I'm going with reflect times in this one. Has the wickedist late kick of any 3YO in the country. no one else in the race besides maybe crown of throns really seems worthy IMHO.

Wow, now I feel good, I picked Reflect Times all by myself, then logged on to see what the experts thought. Now he just has to win. But I really like Sherrifs as a trainer, he is so patient with his horses.

I usually think it's good luck when a coked up midget jumps on me and knocks my bar stool over at a bar. But it has never happened to me in Hot Springs, so maybe it's bad luck this year. Indian Sun looks like a lock to me and I'm using Crown of Thorns as my back up.

i didn't like crown of t hrons stretching out and his first race stuck out in my head.

not a very impressive race.. reflect times didn't run his race and I woudln't throw him out next out.

I don't see a derby horse in any of these horses

I'm not convinced there's a Derby horse in that lot either, the winner did make a nice move though.
Indian Sun's performance doesn't exactly make El Gato Mato or Into Mischief look to good.

I don't think that was a very nice move.. it looked to me the front just tired and he inherited.

go back and look at el gato malo's last race. THAT is a move.

they need to take indian sun off the derby trail.. I think he's a miler. he does have that damn indian charlie/ in excess in him.

el gato malo is the best 3YO in the west.

I think still that reflect times is the best horse of this bunch, i'm still convinced of it.. just didn't run his race today, but even I dont't hink he is a derby horse.

Meal Ticket didn't exactly spit the bit. El Gato Mato's move was assisted by two horses who hit a wall at the top of the stretch, it was nice though.

I think Indian Sun took himself off the trail for them, he's got that Indian Charlie just like you know who.lol

I did think Reflect Times and Crown of Thorns were the best horses in the race, the race will do them both a world of good. They both should move forward off this stretchout.

LMAO, i had to think about that one for a second...

Actually I take back what I said. I don't think it's the distance i think it's the surface. his pedigree SCREAMS turf to me. his damsire is an arc winner. his entire dam side is what you would think to find on a epsom derby horse

even in excess himself has alot of turf pedigree in him.

lol, i can't say shit about indian blessing's pedigree. there isn't a damn thing in it that says 2 turns.. her mom is a sprint stakes winner from the carson city line.

His form didn't exactly regress when he went from turf to poly. I think he's just a step behind these types. He had the class and seasoning edge on them and still couldn't keep up. Saying all that I agree with you he could probably pick up a lot more cash getting back to the green right now

From what I saw, today gave me a "thumbs down" on the California crew.

I'd like to see these horses race off the phony pavement that Santa Anita calls a racetrack...it's really hard to judge horses running on this crap.

I'm not throwing out Reflect Times, but I just don't think the track at Santa Anita is giving me a good reflection of what might happen on a dirt course. Probably the Whirlaway was more revealing. Two green horses with talent and heart, but still so green. Can they improve enough? You can throw out Spanky Fischbein though, I was never keen on him in the first place.
