Damn, damn, DAMN good race. Whew..

okay. my GUT tells me that Awesome Gem is the 2nd best horse on the west coast behind Tiago. But my mind is telling me to leave him off.. because this Breeders cup bounce is no joke. so although I like him I'm going elsewhere

Zappa is the next lava man. this is a what...6 year old who last year.. not even 7 months ago.. was racing in 22k claimers. Now he's a horse who is a grade 3 winner and is a legit chance in this one...Ward let one slip though his hands. I like his chances.. i really do. extremely versitle.

I see no reason why heatseeker is going to up and beat zappa today and he could not last time they raced and the same with Well Armed.
I think the farther distance hurts well armed... .the father the better for zappa

now.. THIS is where it gets interesting.. you have my fav horse of last year (or at least the one that made me the most money) student council coming from a race in Japan and you havef SNS in his first racde of the year.

Student Council when he is right is better than these horses. but being his first race of the year.. on a track that is the polor opposite of del mar... i can't logically punk money down on him

SNS will get bets on his name but he's not the same horse who was the fav in the derby. he got throttled in a non graded stakes last out. while I think that the races are better in the midwest.. not THAT much better.

I'm going with Zappa.

I'm going to go with Awesome Gem to be the second horse to come back from the B.C. and win.

I also predict that Big Booster will come in third.

I'd pick Well Armed, but it's going to rain tonight and most of tomorrow, so handicapping a race that probably won't be run is a moot point. :(

...and the best horse on the West Coast ran on the East Coast today - Spring at Last. :D

funny enough.. I think spring at last is something that I think alot of people in the racing industry in soCal will be saying here soon enough

Curlin, you should have gone with Well Armed! And Big Booster came fourth instead of his usual third!

I'm kicking myself for not placing a $20 win bet on his head, darn it.

If he's in the Big 'Cap I'll be there, but he may wind up running 2nd then!
