some days your the windshield, some days your the bug...

I am suffernig from a raging head cold. If I was a Dinosaur, I would be a phlegmasuarus rex. So this morning, as part of my weekend ritual I went to the offtrack here in the arctic circle for breakfast (ok, I am not quite at the arctic circle, but close enough). I plunk my two dollars in one of the machines for a DRF gulfstream Past performances.

Since there wasn't much to look at, the only thing that got me excited were three races, I placed my 3 bets, and came home.

$ 5 WP on Lion Lord in the 5th- Ghostzappers baby brother (long series of decent works, 4 year old maiden, wasn't Ghostzapper a 4 year old maiden? could be the halls cough drops talking for me now...) $5 win on Aaron's rod in the 7th, survived a jockey's claim of foul, Chavez you crybaby - running faster than you is not interference, and won $ 16.20 (the racing line is no factor from a ALW N1X "dropping" to a $20 000 N2L ).

Now, I am watching the 8th - and will fall off my chair as I took a "home run" swing $5 WP on the 7 Gibbers Gold currently holding at 23 - 1.

ghostzapper wasn't a 4YO maiden, he broke his maiden at the age of 2, in december at santa anita, but he got injufired his next race and was put on the shelf for a year so it may seem like it.

BDW, Ghostzapper was in training in the winter, then showed up at Saratoga to win an allowance and then ran 3rd in the King's Bishop with a massive move in the stretch. He wasn't really put away from what I remember just nursed along.

you might be right, let me see.

2YO season, raced 2 times, 11/16/02 broke maiden at Hollywood park (can you believe he went off at 12 to 1?)

a month later on the 16th he came in 4th in an allowence race, and came out of that race at santa anita with an injury

I thought he was put up for the year but just half a year, but enough to miss the derby trail. he resurfaced at belmont around fathers day and won an allowence race

you know it's not the 3YO season where he missed alot of time. I mean 6 months is a lot of time but it's his 3YO season and 4YO season he took a HUGE break, almost a year off. he won the vosburgh and took 10 months off and raced in the tom fool.

I was there for the King's Bishop and he won an allowance there as his prep for that race.
