Magna 5 anyone?

Postby AscotStud » Fri Feb 22, 2008 7:14 pm

Anyone playing the Magna 5 this weekend. Looks like a pretty easy ticketthis weekend, if you can take a stand in the first leg (which is either a single or an all, in my mind), which my poor ass will have to do. Usually when I think it's an easy one I get ripped apart, but you never know in this game.

Anyways here's my ticket

8 w/ 2,7 w/ 4,6 w/ 2,7,10 w/ 2,7

I should really just bet $48 bucks on the 8 to win in the first leg, but we'll see.

After looking at Jim Kachulis' picks is it just me or is he smoking crack when he handicaps?

Ascot,

I think thats as good as my idea for a three horse bet, but only two of three have to finish in the top 3....

Tough to beat a mediocre Ohio bred in Open company even if she is trained by Motion. Cryptoquip is a very tough take, and you were wise not to bet all you had on her. SHe was outrun, and just got lucky, certainly not the best horse in the race.

I know, but the end result was better than what 2 wins and 3 2nds got me. That field was mediocre but I had to take a stand on one of them, I felt pretty confident about the rest of my ticket, even though it was small. So I was pretty much basing my whole ticket on a horse that I didn't love but thought was the best of a bad bunch.

It was a very mediocre bunch. I think she ran a mid 70 for that effort and she was well beaten. It was a horrible call by the stewards to put her up.

I saw her at Beulah on Best Of Ohio Day and wasnt impressed then, eventhough she ran off the screen.

Motion has done a good job spotting her
