IMHO, BIG BROWN is definitely out running his pedigree. There is nothing about his dosage that makes him a winner of the KD or the Preakness. The Belmont, maybe? There is something about him and his quickness that puts him in a league of his own. The only thing that BB has not been able to out run is that loose shoe and his connections. Despite the bad farriery, the glue, the owners, and the trainer, he's done well. There hasn't been a great deal of conversation about him on this board lately. Think everyone is worn out with the surprises. Not his fault.

Well, isn't that what a *great* horse does? Overcome obstacles.
Of course, running in 100 degrees, with a loose shoe, having had your electrolytes taken away (never could figure that one out!), and having all the other stuff might have been *one* too many obstacles.
I like Big Brown. If he doesn't win the Haskell, from which horses are dropping like flies, I guess I'll have to reconsider.
