I want to look closer....after the post positions and final entries come out Wednesday, I think the pp draw will be important in this Wood. Albertrani has two in there QM and Freedom Child, who was 2nd to Orb when Orb broke his maiden...this is Tommy A's style...takes his time with well bred late developers. Then there's Elnaawi, a 1/2 to, To Honor and Serve who had a troubled trip running 3rd to Vyjack in his last. Add Always in A Tiz who beat Revolutionary and Clawback in his first start, then got beat a head and a neck to Will Take Charge before beating him in the Southwest by a 1/2. Add the snake bit Wood Memorial as their stage, which has been a graveyard to a standout....this could be an upset in the making? Unless I really did see what I thought I saw in the "bridge":>) TJ
Here's the field in post postion order for the Wood Memorial, two additional horse did enter....Chrisandthecapper and Go Get the Basil. Normandy Invasion and Vyjack drew well, Verrazano from the 8 post, slight cause for concern? When the official overnight comes out from NYRA I will post that with past performances. TJ
1 Chrisandthecapper
2 Normandy Invasion
3 Quinzieme Monarque
4 Elnaawi
5 Vyjack
6 Mr Palmer
7 Always in a Tiz
8 Verrazano
9 Go Get the Basil
10 Freedom Child

Lets see how Verranzano can cope now he faces a tough draw and other speed.
Hi Dub,
It's better they answer the question sooner then later. Verrazano's post could be a problem, if there is sharp speed inside him...which could force his hand early and hang him out to dry into the first turn. If the speed isn't serious, he should be able to overcome the post and get to the ground saving rail postion. Will get the pp's out as soon as they become available. TJ

How has he been working?
He won his only start in a MSW and got a reasonable speed figure.
Could he be a dark horse @ 20/1?
Hi Dub,
He is training very good over the all weather at Hollywood Park, 5/8ths in 1:00.3, 7/8ths in 1:26 and on 3/31 5/8ths in 1:00 flat. He removes blinker's in his attempt to move up to graded company while going around two turns for the first time. I believe he will be a strong pace factor, even with the b's off. If he were to upset this group...it would be quite the feat against more seasoned rivals? Garret Gomez, who rode him when breaking his maiden, will ride Flashback. TJ
