I think (?) I like Pure Fun, and the somewhat overlooked Unlimited Budget (I only say she is overlooked because of Dreaming of Julia).

I'll place a show bet on Silsita, just for the jockey. I like Gary Stevens a lot.

Hi jagger

I admit that I am far away from my usual conduit mare evaluation for this filly. Her pedigree says that she shouldn't get the Oaks distance, and she's so inexperienced that she has no right going up against such a talented bunch like this. That said, I sense something very special about this girl and expect her to run big on Friday.
Good luck to all.

Foolish to go against Dreaming Of Julia after her last win.
Well according to everyone who said she could outrun the boys if she was in the KY Derby - the Oaks should be a penalty kick right?

Bill,

Thanks for clarifying, Bill. Just when I thought I had a handle on your conduit mare profile, you threw me a curve.

I feel exactly as you do....pedigree doesn't really put her among the frontrunners in the race but quite a few of the Midnight Lute's are outrunning their pedigree too.

She has Rosie up and I thing that helps her chances too. Of course, I am pulling for her and MyLute in the Derby because I have a Midnight Lute foal due this month.

Hi jagger.

Congrats on your new baby (when it comes). I really like Midnight Lute as a stallion, and I think he will continue to sire runners that outperform his conduit mare pedigree. I hope you get a good one.

Not really. IMO the Oaks is a tougher field than the Derby if you look at the PPs of both races. Julia should have been entered in the easier race. I am still mad about it.

I should have paid more attention to the conduit mare profile for Midnight Lucky. She didn't want any part of the final 16th. Nice win for Mike Smith.
