I think I like Hoppertunity to improve off of his last, on top of Tapiture.

Also taking a look at Street Strategy to pick up a piece.

I'm going to take a shot with Street Strategy. Should like the added yardage. Improving horse. Good connections.

Tapiture is a tenacious little one, isn't he? He wasn't giving that up easy. I almost feel like Santana should've taken him down on the inside.

Kobe's Back looked terrible. Hopefully he comes out of it ok, and they keep him going short. His two longer races have been pretty bad, and he hasn't really even had a chance to do any running.

Strong Mandate - not a Derby horse. Hopefully they don't keep on with him, but I'm thinking they will continue on the Derby Trail with him, knowing what Lukas is like. I think he'd be better suited to the Derby Trial.

I liked Hoppertunity going into this, he seems a bit green. I have mixed feelings about him winning, I think Tapiture might've won if all that bumping hadn't have occurred. But, after rewatching the race, I have to say Hoppertunity (for a green horse) was very composed and kept running despite getting hit by the whip and bumped by a more experienced horse.

I still think the top 3 are California Chrome-Cairo Prince-Candy Boy. At this point in time.

I thought Ride On Curlin was pretty impressive, lots of shuffling around in a hard fought race by the top three. Not really excited about any of these...too bad Shug didn't stick to his original plan and run Honor Code in here. Video below. TJ

Hoppertunity, along with adding 50 points to his claim to a starting position in the Derby, received a beyer figure of 100 for his Rebel effort. TJ

My longshot folded like a cheap suit. I don't see a Derby winner in this bunch.
