Saturday's G1 Belmont Derby Invitational has drawn a deep, contentious field of three-year-olds on turf. Here is a look at the race.

Hi Bobster,
I agree, a real nice race with 3 GR II and 1 GR III winner in the field as well as two Euro shippers. I wanted to post this race, but couldn't find the pp's for the race yesterday. Just found a back door through Speightstown sired foals via Force the Pass. So here's the PP's for any of the posters to this forum who would like to make their picks. TJ

Here's the finish in the Belmont Derby:
Force The Pass, Canndal, Startup Nation and Closing Bell.
Bolo may have bled the way he stopped so suddenly....I hope he's OK. The top two ran very well at big prices for a $220 exacta:>) TJ

Force the Pass ran powerfully down that stretch. I looked at him off his last, but decided to skip on him...my bad.
Speightstown had the 1 mile/dirt Dwyer winner and the 1 1/4 mile turf Belmont Derby winner - nice day for him.

Any news on Bolo?

Nothing yet, but something had to give...it reminded me of Frosted when he looked like a winner then he stopped. Maybe Bolo flipped his palate the way Frosted did that day?? TJ

Seems Bolo was pulled up and vanned off after the race, possibly indicating a more serious injury then bleeding or flipping? TJ

Very worrying but according to the Bloodhorse they haven't been able to find anything wrong http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/92872/force-the-pass-brilliant-in-belmont-derby

Hi Geo,
Glad to hear it, but it does not compute...especially after posting such slow fractions on an easy lead?? He stopped too badly to come out clean. TJ

I agree TJ, they may find something on further investigation. Hopefully we'll hear an update soon.
