Dortmund's return was a winning one. Under a hand ride throughout, he was three wide on the backstretch tracking the pace then took command as the rider pleased. Point Piper was 2nd, Motown Men 3rd and Soi Phet was 4th. Looks like he came back in great shape and Baffert can put all his effort into him when American Pharoah exits stage left at the end of the month. Baffert may run Dortmund once more at SA before his main objective, the GR I Clark Handicap on Thanksgiving Day. TJ

Here's Dortmund's return...confidently ridden by Mr. Garcia....he felt a tap of the stick once on his shoulder, then won under a hand ride with much in reserve. This will be next seasons top handicap horse if the big boy stays sound. TJ
