Hard Not To Like and Talmada are out of the F & M Turf.
Hi Cree,
I agree it really lost its luster. I picked against AP, but there really is no reason for him to get beat the way the Classic fell apart. I still think the distance is his nemesis, both 1 1/4 mile races were not with his usual flair. Only winning by one length in the Derby and Keen Ice handling him the next time he tried the distance in the Travers. The Euro horse, Gleneagles has been pointing for this race all year...owner and trainer must know the horse can handle the dirt. He's out of a full sister to Giant's Causeway...who was also owned by the same people (Magnier and Tabor)....and he shipped here for the BC Classic never before being tried on the dirt and ran 2nd beaten a neck to Tiznow. So I'll take a chance that he might press AP early and make a race of it, while allowing the closers a chance to make a strong run. Though I wouldn't mind eating crow and watching AP win it with the flair he's shown us before and I'm just dead wrong about his ability to go this particular distance.....he truly does deserve it, a great horse:>) TJ
PS the handicappers picked the 1st race already at Keeneland...watch these folks.
