Mo Tom...stopped cold in last, should win this one with clear sailing.
Gun Runner...gets better every race, distance should be his forte but picks up weight today? Out of half sister to BC Classic winner Saint Liam.
Conquest Windycity...stakes placed before he broke his maiden. Comes into today's stake with back to back wins under his girth. WinStar bred colt sold for $800,000, could be ready to step up?
Greenpointcrusader...been away 56 days, full brother to talented but fragile Algorithms..first horse off the Derby trail in 2012...soundness issues, guess we will see?

I'm starting to like this horse. I also think his name is kind of catchy. And that female family... :-)

Mo Tom is one of those horses that will have to make his luck. Greenpointcrusader - now what?

I like him too....he's probably bred best of anyone to get the Derby distance. Mo Tom needs to try another rider...how the heck can you put him in a jackpot the way this rider has, twice in a row in the same spot? Can anyone say Calvin Bo-Rail:>)
I think Greenpointcrusader is a done piece. His trainer isn't giving the horse that much time between starts without dealing with a physical issue. TJ

I've been wondering if he had an issue. Taking after his brother Algorithms, rather than the more hickory Justin Philip, I guess.

Hi Cree,
Taking after Algorithms would be more likely being his full brother. But when Dominick waited so long to run him back and only worked 5/8ths in 1:02 I figured he was holding him together. You don't run against horses like these without some strong works off a 2 month layoff. TJ

TJ, your knowledge of Dominant Classicity and Complete Representation is beyond reproach. Certainly, such wisdom led me to Lani, winner of the UAE Derby and is representing a full and Complete Representation. Unfortunately I was precluded from posting such in advance. Thank you.

That was a strange ride by Lanerie, but at least he fessed up to it.

I did read that Amoss was so incensed he removed the jockey from a later mount, but later regretted his actions.

Hi Geo,
I didn't hear that...granted it was very bad judgement on Lanerie's part going inside again after the same thing happened to him at that same point last time out. With Mo's powerful run he could have stayed outside all the way around the track and still have a good chance to run them all down with that late kick. But Amoss never should have taken Lanerie off a mount he was all ready named to ride. That's bad juju for Amoss and Mo from here on out:>) Hall of fame trainer Leroy Jolley said a long time ago, "This game wasn't cut out for anybody wearing short pants." TJ
