Re: The GR I Kentucky Oaks
Okay let's get this party started...bombs away in the Oaks:>) TJ
Dream Dance...She reminds me of a throwback from earlier times:>) Ran 7 times as a 2YO and comes into this race 3rd off a layoff...her trainer has a 28% strike rate with this move. Unusual since Neil Howard isn't one to run 2YO's that often, he must have been confident in her soundness and seems he's pointed her for this one?
Cathryn Sophia...her trainer, John Servis ruled her out of this one after suffering her 1st defeat going a mile and a 1/16 for the first time. He quickly changed his mind when he found out Songbird was out. Worked strong for this (albeit at Keeneland), but distance is a question and post doesn't help?
Rachel's Valentina...another with ability, but gets a tough post. This well bred, yet small 3YO filly has yet to win beyond 7/8ths of a mile?
Dothraki Queen...the only AE in the field has a ton of ability, but had a tough time getting back to the races as a 3YO. She earned all her points as a 2YO, but might surprise if she gets in? Another bad post position.
Land Over Sea...Promptly got the job done once she got away from Songbird. Doug O'Neil and Mario Gutierrez have a solid shot with this 3YO filly. Easily handled Dream Dance the one time they met, but unfortunately she too gets a bad outside post.

Cathryn Sofia...ran away and hid from these today, John Servis (trainer of Smarty Jones), made the right decision:>)

Beautiful win by Cathryn Sophia. I hope she hooks up with Songbird at some point.
Lewis Bay would've stayed on for second, if she HAD switched her darn lead!!!
