Postby skeenan » Wed Aug 17, 2016 10:22 am

What?? No excitement for this race on Saturday? Beholder is looking strong, just breezed a half-mile in :47. I'm excited to see her run with California Chrome... going to be a great race! :D
Beholder has post #7, my lucky number... :D

2—Hoppertunity (Flavien Prat) 8-1
3—War Story (Ricardo Mejias) 30-1
4—Hard Aces (Santiago Gonzalez) 15-1
5—Win The Space (Joe Talamo) 15-1
6—Imperative (Norberto Arroyo, Jr.) 20-1
7—Beholder (Gary Stevens) 5-2
8—Dortmund (Rafael Bejarano) 3-1
9—Dalmore (Kent Desormeaux) 20-1

I have it on right now... can't wait, two great races! :D
I'm going with Songbird, but no guesses who will pull off the Classic... I would love to see Beholder do it, but obviously California Chrome will be hard to beat.

California Chrome made that look pretty easy. Visually very impressive.

I figured he'd do it, but I still give props to Beholder for coming in second. She put the rest of the field away... love that mare! Cool to see two older horses still performing so strongly.

And awesome to see Songbird make it 10-for-10!
For a year following a Triple Crown, so many great horses to follow this season. I love Frosted, too.

Chrome loves the 1 1/4 mile. His record at the distance is pretty good. I thought he looked wonderful out there, it is so nice to see him racing at 5, successfully. What a horse!
I thought Beholder ran a good race, despite chasing Chrome, but she didn't quit. I hope they stick with the Distaff for her - with Stellar Wind, Songbird, and Curalina - I think that would be an awesome race in its own right.
Dortmund probably wants something shorter, I really think he should go to the Dirt Mile. He's done chasing Chrome!
